Lime and Papaya Frappe
By Sally James. The Pacific Islanders knew what they were doing when they served papaya (also known as PawPaw) with lime. The lime brings out the sweetness and flavor of the papaya. I often add a few of the seeds for a touch of pepperiness and their wonderful digestive enzyme qualities. Enjoy, close your eyes and imagine you’re on a beach in Tahiti!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cup diced papaya
- Juice of 2 lime
- ¼ cup sparkling water or orange juice
- ¼ cup buttermilk or kefir
- ½ cup ice
DIRECTIONS
- Place all ingredients in a blender and whizz until smooth and thick. Taste, and adjust to preference with more lime or buttermilk.
- A healthy and refreshing frappe made with papaya, lime, juice or water and buttermilk. A wonderful digestive tonic and nutrition powerhouse, the papaya is high in Vitamin C and A, potassium, fiber and foliate.
